Login Issues

Can't Log In

  • Double-check your email and password
  • Try "Forgot Password" to reset
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge)
  • Disable browser extensions that might interfere

Session Expired

Sessions last 16 hours. After that, you'll need to log in again. This is normal and designed to balance security with convenience during long shifts.

Scenario Analysis Issues

Analysis Taking Too Long

Analyses typically take 10-30 seconds. If longer:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Wait up to 60 seconds for complex scenarios
  • If still loading, refresh the page and try again

Analysis Doesn't Address My Question

  • Include more specific details in your scenario
  • Ask a clear question at the end (e.g., "Can I search?")
  • Use the follow-up box to ask clarifying questions
  • Try rephrasing your scenario

Unverified Cases (Yellow Warnings)

This means the case couldn't be verified in our database. It doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong, but you should verify independently before citing.

Our legal team is automatically notified when unverified cases appear.

Analysis Error Messages

"At Capacity" / "Temporarily Unavailable"

The system reached its daily processing limit. Try again tomorrow morning or after midnight UTC (7 PM Eastern).

"Analysis Already Running"

You have another analysis in progress, possibly in another tab. Wait for it to finish, or wait about 60 seconds for the lock to clear automatically.

Analysis Shows Text but No Case Cards

The analysis saved but the case verification step failed. The text is preserved and you can still use it.

Thinking Indicator Completes but No Text Appears

The AI ran out of processing space during its reasoning. Try a more focused question or a simpler scenario.

"Something Went Wrong"

Click "Try Again." If that doesn't work, refresh the page and resubmit your scenario.

Analysis Disappeared from History

This is a rare database issue during saving. Re-run the analysis.

"Analysis Could Not Be Loaded"

The analysis was interrupted before saving. Start a new one from the Analyze page.

"Access Denied" on the Analyze Page

Complete onboarding and accept the terms of service first.

Common Error Messages

Can't Accept Terms of Service

Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear a cached old version.

Copy Button Shows X or "Copy Failed"

Check clipboard permissions for lawcite.app in your browser settings.

"Case Not Found"

The case was removed during a database update.

"Could Not Load Case Details"

Temporary issue. Click the case again to retry.

"I Was Charged but Nothing Happened"

If the page closed right after submitting, the credit was used but the analysis didn't complete. Re-run from the Analyze page.

Filter Panel Cut Off on Mobile

Try landscape orientation or a wider browser window.

Feedback Submission Failed

Wait a moment and try again. If persistent, email support@lawcite.app.

Export Issues

Export Not Working

  • Try a different format (PDF vs. Word)
  • Check if pop-ups are blocked
  • Check your downloads folder
  • Try a different browser

File Won't Open

  • Make sure you have a PDF reader or Word installed
  • Try re-downloading the file
  • Check if the download completed (file size should be >0)

Display Issues

Page Not Loading Correctly

  • Refresh the page
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Try a different browser
  • Check your internet connection

Text Too Small / Too Large

Use your browser's zoom controls: Ctrl/Cmd + Plus to zoom in, Ctrl/Cmd + Minus to zoom out, Ctrl/Cmd + 0 to reset.

Payment Issues

Payment Failed

  • Check if your card has sufficient funds
  • Verify card details are correct
  • Try a different card
  • Contact your bank — they may have blocked the charge

Subscription Not Activated

  • Check your email for confirmation from Stripe
  • Log out and log back in
  • Wait a few minutes — activation can take time
  • Check Account Settings → Billing for status

LawCite works on:

  • Chrome (recommended)
  • Edge
  • Safari
  • Firefox

Mobile browsers work but desktop is recommended for the best experience.
